Oracles of Delphi Keep by Victoria Laurie

Oracles of Delphi Keep by Victoria Laurie 4 of 5 stars

When strange things begin to happen to a young Theo and Ian they are thrust into a world filled with dark sorcerers, hellhounds, and ancient prophecies. After finding a strange silver box and nearly being killed by a vicious hellhound the two children find themselves the center of a prophecy written nearly 4,000 years ago by one of the greatest prophets that ever live, the Oracle of Delphi, Laodamia. With dark forces rising, the fate of the world rests on their shoulders and they must be courageous in their struggles to follow the prophet’s instructions.

When I first began reading Oracles of Delphi Keep it was hard to pick the book back up once I put it down. The characters were too young for my taste and the plot seemed used, but after reading the first three or four chapters I was hooked. The story is complex and intertwines with a crucial point in history (the period of time just before WWII) and a prophecy from ancient Greece. Victoria Laurie adds a bit of humor into a mostly dark plot lightening the story slightly. The characters are believable and well characterized. The plot is complex and twisting, while the whole story is very well written. Overall, Oracles of Delphi Keep was an epic adventure and a wonderful read.

For fans of: Victoria Laurie, Indiana Jones, The Chronicles of Narnia

Wonderful review! I want to read this book so bad. I'm a little jealous at the moment ... :)
