MTV Movie Awards

Okay, so I must say I was a bit disappointed... Twilight, deservingly, took home many awards including Best Movie. Though, I can't say I was glad Robert Pattinson won Breakthrough Male Performance. Sure, he did a good job as Edward Cullen, but in mt opinion Ben Barnes had him beat. As for the trailer, it was okay, but the Edward to Jacob ratio was all wrong. Too much Edward. Oh, well... Let me know what you thought!

I can just hear all the OMG's tonight...

Haha. Okay, I know everyone else has to be as excited as I am! Some probably even more so. Why? BECAUSE... Tonight is the night we get to see the New Moon Trailer on the MTV Movie Awards, duh! Now, I'll admit I'm not the biggest Twilight fan, though I did enjoy the first three books. I never really got into the whole Edward Cullen thing much and honestly I couldn't stand Bella, but I DID love Jacob Black. So, New Moon is probably my favorite. And I am sure Taylor and Kristen will do it justice. I'll try to make another post tonight after it appears.

Much love

Betsy and the Emperor

Betsy and the Emperor 5 of 5 stars

Betsy and the Emperor shows a different side to Napoleon Bonapart than what you read in history books. It is an unbiased and entertaining account of his imprisonment.

Betsy Balcome is a high spirited fourteen year old girl with, like many others at the time, an immense dislike of Napoleon Bonaparte (A.K.A. Boney). You can imagine then, her surprise when she finds out that the infamous ruler is going to be staying in her families guest house for the beginning of his imprisonment. Napoleon is intrigued by Betsy's spunk and quick tongue. Napoleon and Betsy grow closer as she learns more about what he did, and the deeds he contributed to the knowledge of the world. Betsy even goes to the trouble of attempting to help him escape, but when a new man comes into charge of Napoleon's imprisonment their carefree ways are left in shatters.
Betsy and the Emperor is a wonderful, well written book that I have read many, many times.

To Catch a Pirate

To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker 5 of 5 stars
To Catch A Pirate is one of my all time favorite books. Anyone who loves romance stories packed with actions will love this story! Annalisa Townsend is accompanying her father to the island of Mourning where he is to build a great port city for the king of England. Traveling with a chest of gold from the king, they do not make it to there destination before being attacked by the fearsome pirate Crimson Kelly and his colorful crew.
Annalisa is ordered to hide in the cargo hold before the pirates board their ship. Curiosity got the best of her and she left the safety of a barrel, just when James Sterling comes barrelling into the hold. When he tries to take her necklace she pleads with him not to for it is all she has to remember her mother (Who recently succumbed to the fever and died) by. He takes her ring and a kiss in exchange.

Now, a year later, Annalisa's father is in jail for cowardice and/or piracy. Annalisa has obtained a crew and a ship, not to mention a forged letter of marque, with the help of a young officer by the name of Nathaniel Northrup. She has wanted notices placed all over the Caribbean and the American coast for James Sterling. She is determined to find him and get the king's treasure back to clear her father's name.

When Annalisa caught James Sterling she thought she had her destiny in the palm of her hand. What she didn't expect was to fall in love a pirate. Something that was very dangerous to her plans.
